Company
Init6 was founded in 2017 and has spent nine years building purpose-built tools for corporations and enterprises. The company is named after the reboot command, because that is what the basics need. A clean start beats another panel bolted onto a crowded suite.
Where the name comes from
Every year this industry says the same thing. If companies did the basics properly, most of the damage would go away. Every year it does not happen. The basics are not hard to understand, they are hard to keep doing, and the tooling meant to help has grown into something people work around.
A reboot is the first thing any IT person reaches for, and it works far more often than it has any right to. It clears the state that piled up while nobody was looking, and the machine comes back able to do its job. That is the name, and it is the intent. Init6 builds the tools that let a team start clean on work they were already supposed to be doing.
How Init6 works
Most security products try to be the 5-in-1 printer. Print, scan, fax, copy, staple, all of it average, because the roadmap has to answer to every buyer at once. The customer ends up using one function and tolerating it. Init6 builds tools that do one thing very well and then stop.
We do not redesign a product because one customer feels strongly on a Tuesday. Decades of work inside organizations large and small produce a clear view of what a solution should be. Feature requests get read and answered. Requests that would make the tool worse get a straight no and a reason.
A product starts here as a specific piece of work a team is doing badly with the wrong tool, usually a spreadsheet, usually under time pressure. If we cannot describe that work in one sentence, we do not build it.
Track record
That work was private, built for corporations and enterprise teams who needed one job done properly, and it shipped. KnownScope is the first of it to carry a public name.
Init6 was founded by Rob Fuller, known in the security community as mubix.

The first product
KnownScope is a focused workspace for coordinating urgent security response, the work no scanner or ticket queue is built to hold. Most response teams already have that problem and nothing that fits it.
